Other types of Canadian SF - Butterfly

Hey everyone! My name is Matti, and I've just recently started some work on a science fiction webseries called Butterfly. I was hoping to share this with you in the hopes that you'd appreciate the story and enjoy it. The series can be found at www.findthebutterfly.com
It all centers around the idea that you may not be who you think you are. Science Fiction is difficult in the sense that there are certain principals that people will argue as being inherently Science Fictiony. When you think SciFi, immediately the mind is drawn to images of aliens, rockets and ray guns. We made a conscious effort to avoid these trappings, and make something new, exciting and dynamic, by agreeing that the series would involve no special effects whatsoever. This idea has been a challenge, but it fits our no-budget ideals quite well.
I hope you get a chance to watch and support us, and overall, I hope you enjoy the series.

Hi - I’ve written a book, my first novel. I wrote it for fun, so I don’t plan to charge for it. (Unless, of course, Hollywood discovers it and wants to turn it into a multi-million dollar summer blockbuster.) However, for now, and for you, it is free! You can read the first three chapters here: http://betweennovel.com/
If you like it, you can get a full copy by emailing me raykiely1@eircom.net. I won’t be spamming your email or anything like that. I simply want to know how many people read the novel and this is the only way I can think of to keep track that won’t cost me money.
SF Events in Canada - BIFFnews

Ten terrific BIFFliophiles gathered for our latest BookCrossing event. There were so many books piled up that, even with that many people to pick over them (plus out server), we still ended up leaving a bunch in the restaurant. (Look in the newspaper rack on the left at the top of the stairs to see if any of them are still there.)

And, for some strange reason, the conversation seemed to focus on books. I can't imagine why...

This week, reporters and TV crews from all over the world have converged on the Lower Mainland, and they're all here for one reason, and one reason only. Yes, it's time for BIFF to choose new leadership, and maybe even a new form of government for BIFF. (Play games like Lord of the RIngs Trivial Pursuit, and the winner gets to be in charge the next week? Or rotate the leadership in alphabetical order by the third letter of the last name? Or maybe draw straws?)

In any case, the nomination slate is wide open, including what offices we're even nominating people for. Have fun with this: come out to BIFF wearing campaign T-shirts and buttons. ("Pow for Benevolent Dictator!") Hold speeches, and promise to wipe out the debt in the Hospitality and Promotion Fund, and bring in famous author and actor guests at tremendous expense, both at the same time! Put up campaign ads in the video section. Warn people that a vote for your opponent is a vote for watching The Star Wars Holiday Special.

And remember, vote early, and vote often.
